To all Superwomen

So I can honestly say when I was younger I had little to no respect for parents, adults, etc.. I know that may come as a surprise to some because of how wholesome and innocent I am/was. Partially because I was 100% sure I knew everything and could do it with one hand tied behind my back. The MAN was bringing me down day in and day out. Now older and much wiser I have come to realize that I do not know shit. Surprisingly enough I feel like I am learning more and more about life and myself from my children. Ethan genuinely seems to like everyone he comes in contact with. Doesn't create an opinion or judge until he is pissed off. Then it takes a heart of gold to win him back. I agree with forgiveness but I believe to be forgiven you have to make an effort. I see is almost always the hardest part of I'm Sorry. My daughter who is colic and screams (literally) for 4 hours at a shot has taught me the hardest lesson of all. Patience. I never in a million years would've imagined me calm (mostly calm!) after hours of someone screaming in my face. I loose it sometimes and need a break. But overall I am much better at this than I imagined.

They require a lot of time and effort. No vacation or sick days. They can be your worst or best critic. Love isn't even close to how much you feel for them and treasure them. You create a better you without a 2nd thought. I am not perfect and do not have all the answers. Being a mom makes me accept my the faults that I may not have seen before.

  1. Nikie,
    This is so touching!
You should print this out and give it to the kids when they are older!
    Lots of love,
